the day ahead

by cool_cancer @ 2005-07-05 - 11:37:11

Today is my 2nd marriage anniversary:).......
Not doing anything special till now because my hubby is busy with work today, but maybe we will go out in the evening.
I wonder what people feel on their anniversaries, I mean, it seems just another day:roll:
What is the point of being goody-goody to each other just that one day if you can't be the same for the whole year? Why not just be yourself as the rest of the year........

Congratulations on your anniversary! Two years...and hopefully many more to go. Marraige is quite an adventure. I was married for ten years. We are unusually close so we still acknowledge our wedding anniversary - odd isn't it?!?!
Its not that I think that there is only one day of the year where you should be lovely to eachother- obviously, the goal is to find enthusiasm every day in some way, shape, or form for the person you've married and also the idea of marraige itself. But an anniversary has the potencial to mean more and more to you as the years go by because you can see so clearly how far you've come together. The anniversary is a natural punctuation to stop or pause and remind yourself of the feelings you had the expectations and the desires you had.

mubarakho. anniversaries are like any other day in one's life. the day breaks the same, the sun and earth revolve without alterations. but i guess what makes them special is the importance one attaches to them. but then it is relative. your best day in the year could the hellest day for someone next door. but it pays to explore these things and how they affect us. otherwise we'd let sleeping dogs lie.
